BC Place
Opened in 1983 and one of the few major North American stadiums actually located in a downtown core. Sits on False Creek, walking distance from Gastown, Yaletown, and Granville Island. The retractable roof was added in 2011 (a $560M renovation) and is essential given Vancouver's rain; the building's signature look is the white inflated roof from the harbour. Home of the Whitecaps (MLS) and BC Lions (CFL). SkyTrain's Stadium-Chinatown station is across the street, the only sensible way in: downtown parking is brutal and limited at the venue itself. From the upper concourse the North Shore mountains are visible in clear weather, the single best stadium view in the tournament.
